ADULT: And the walls came down...
KJR -—- the next to the next to the early days…
Life was okay -- I had a home -- well maybe not that home, Still it was a home, plus I had motorbikes, snowmobiles, and I started collecting some cars… and other stuff:
a camper, F100 and my favorite trusty old tractor. Even saved a little cash!
What I really wanted to have a happy little family®, so I located a more or less willing female, got married and started a new job in Kingston — The Slimestone City©
The company consisted of about a dozen star-crossed souls — bound in ignescent imperfection to a tin-plated dictator who suffered from delusions of godhood. Eventually I found the inspiration in job offers to Toronto workers at pay rates which were more than two times the local staff salary to prepare a brief outline of ways to improve the company (well, yes — it was about 1/2" thick and it wasn't, shall we say — well received.) After getting an honest, forthright letter of reference, and a few months pay I took a position teaching the "tricks of the trade" so to speak — I rather enjoyed this. Strangely, the students seemed unmotivated by fantastic adventure and excitement of learning COBOL, ASSEMBLER and JCL!!!
Can you IMAGINE THAT!!!
Now what do you think happened…
