This is known. The timeline of King Herod: Herod was born in 73 BC. Julius Caesar made his father procurator of Judaea in 47 BC and Herod was appointed governor of Galilee. Six years later Rome made him tetrarch of Galilee. In 40 BC, Parthia invaded Palestine and Herod fled to Rome. Rome made him King of Judaea and equipped him with an army. Herod became the unchallenged ruler of Judaea. Rome gave Jordan, southern Labanon and Syria to Herod. In Jerusalem Herod built the fortress of Antonia, a magnificant place and a grandiose temple. Herod reigned 37 years and died in 1 BC. It is therefore believed Christ was born in the spring of 1 B.C on or shortly before Passover.SINDONE
