Anyway, you can register me on the site. I've got Paul Villecco's JPS. (You've got the VIN correct, it's JPS #04). I got it off eBay but am the fourth/fifth/sixth(numerous)? owner. I bought it from someone (not Paul) in Miami. It was originally purchased in California. Looking at the paperwork I received with the car it seems to have been incredibly expensive to maintain -- totals way more than the purchase price of the car!
I'm in the process of restoring it, and the engine is currently being rebuilt to spec with the exception of the Dellortos I just got. I was really lucky in finding an enthusiastic knowledgeable Lotus engine re-builder reasonably close. The car has been resprayed black & needs a better job done. No decals, and two of the wheels had been polished to silver, two (on the other side) are still gold. They're all to be powder coated gold soon. I got a new used rear bumper from a fellow (very nice) in Canada as the original (actually a replacement by the paperwork) was missing. I haven't gotten into the electrics yet - - I can only take small amounts of punishment at a time. When it warms a bit more I'll hook up a battery and see how bad it really is.
I'm in Northern Alabama (Huntsville) here in the US. I've heard tales of another JPS that was in Birmingham Al, in the museum but missed seeing it, and now I hear it's somewhere else being restored. As I get further along I'll keep you informed & I know I'll keep the questions going in the Yahoo group!
