Four JPS Esprits were the "highlight" of the 19th Lotus Owners Gathering in Corning NY.

From right to left they were DOM 032, FED 031, FED 036 and FED 047

Bob Tufts (owner of FED 047) ran the LOG 19 concours which went very well - except for the thunderstorm.

Frank Pusateri's FED 031 won second prize in the Esprit Series 1/Series 2 class at LOG 19

The owners had fun noting the detail differences between the cars. For Example, the Domestic Spec car sported "esprit" decals front and rear where the Federal Spec cars did not. Also, the Domestic Spec car has a dash plaque signed by Colin Chapman while the Federal Spec cars have a dash plaque signed by Mario Andretti (although both cars have Mario's signature on the steering wheel).

Ted Taylor's Fed 036 had the most original-looking JPS interior.

Trust me, that white smudge below the steering wheel hub is Mario's signature.

Lotus has a long history of association with John Players Special sponsorship. There is also a JPS commemorative Europa. This car was so attractive that many owners of non-JPS cars painted them in these colours. Here are some very nice examples.

The owner of the car featured in the next two photos dubed his car the project from hell!

That unique JPS Seven was at LOG 19 also. There never was an official JPS commemorative Seven, but heck, when a colour scheme is good, why not use it?

My congratulations to the entire LOG 19 Committee for a well organized event!
