I acquired this car back when I actually had some money — it really wasn't outrageously expensive when new...
I prefer to equate income using the "corvette-dollar" standard, (I might write a JAVASCRIPT program to do the math by year/currency/car price later this month). It's a much better measure of real income and cost of living than anything else I've seen. I could buy this car for 16 weeks of work after taxes when it was new... Times have changed and not for the better!
Under the silver fiberglass it does have its faults, true enough — but, I expect I'll keep it until I die... which given its interesting handling characteristics could be just about any time I take it down the Thousand Islands Parkway.
